Compliance Audit Specialist

The Role
The Compliance Audit Specialist is responsible for conducting data, remote, and onsite audits across assigned Anytime Fitness Asia markets, with the position based in Malaysia.
The role ensures that clubs comply with Anytime Fitness brand standards, internal policies, standard operating procedures, franchise agreement requirements, and applicable regulations. The position will review compliance data and field audit submissions, identify risks and recurring issues, recommend corrective actions, and monitor their completion.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of audit methods, internal controls, compliance monitoring, and risk assessment. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills when working with franchisees, club teams, and internal departments.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Compliance Audits and Monitoring
• Conduct regular audits of club pricing, discount practices, membership packages, operational processes, and other assigned compliance areas.
• Conduct onsite and remote audits across assigned clubs and markets based on the approved audit schedule.
• Review and validate compliance data, supporting documents, and information submitted through field audits.
• Coordinate with Franchise Support Managers and club teams to obtain the information required for each audit.
• Conduct follow up audits and periodic reviews to verify that identified issues have been properly addressed.
Reporting and Corrective Actions
• Monitor compliance metrics and prepare accurate reports for the Regional Compliance Manager.
• Analyse audit results to identify trends, control gaps, operational risks, and recurring compliance issues.
• Clearly communicate audit findings and recommendations to franchisees, club teams, and relevant stakeholders.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain corrective action plans arising from audit findings and compliance violations.
• Track agreed actions to completion and escalate significant or overdue compliance concerns when required.
• Complete all required Anytime Fitness Asia audits and provide supporting analysis and reports within the agreed timelines.
Process Improvement and Team Support
• Support the Regional Compliance Manager with compliance projects, investigations, and internal reviews.
• Recommend improvements to compliance processes, reporting tools, audit templates, policies, and procedures.
• Support compliance training and awareness activities for franchisees, club teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and other compliance initiatives as required.
Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with franchisees, club teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with Franchise Support Managers on field audit scheduling, information gathering, findings, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Marketing, Club Operations, Club Development, Procurement, and other relevant departments.
• Support the Regional Compliance Manager in developing strategies and processes that strengthen compliance and improve business performance.
• Communicate professionally and confidently with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, operational audit, risk management, quality assurance, or a related function.
• Experience supporting multiple locations, franchise operations, retail businesses, fitness operations, or other multi site environments is preferred.
• Good understanding of audit procedures, internal controls, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and corrective action management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional Asian language capabilities would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, report writing, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with franchisees and cross functional stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple audits and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgement.
• Willingness and ability to travel for onsite club audits when required.
